Myanmar’s famous mixed martial arts fighter Aung La N Sang has got a new challenger to defend his middleweight world title next month.
Having a record as an unbeaten fighter in his professional mixed martial arts, the challenger is from Lebanon, Mohammed Karaki.
The event organizer, One Championship has already signed with Aung La N Sang since last August, for the world title defense bout scheduled on October 26.
But they had not announced the challenger for Aung La N Sang who is also known as Burmese Python.
Lebanese fighter Mohammed Karaki posted on September 7 on his Facebook page about his contract with One Championship, the event organizer from Singapore.
“I have officially signed with one of the biggest organizations in the world, the One Championship. I couldn’t be prouder. All the hard work paid off and now it›s time for me to shine,” the fighter has posted.
This middleweight world championship bout between current holder Aung La N Sang and Mohammed Karaki, will see as main event, dubbed “ ONE: Pursuit of Greatness” on October 26 at Thuwuna Indoor Stadium in Yangon.
There will be other smaller fights in the October 26 event.
Lebanese challenger Mohammed Karaki, 27, nicknamed ‘O lutador’ has a record of 9 wins and 0 loss in his MMA career. The most prominent is having a record first round knock-outs in previous eight fights.
Aung La N Sang is world champion of both middleweight and light heavyweight. The October bout is the second defense for his middleweight belt.
The Burmese Python made the first successful defense of his middleweight belt in June, after knocking out his challenger Ken Hasegawa of Japan at Thuwuna Indoor Stadium.
The Burmese Python said, “One of my belt is going to be on the line in October. I’m training very hard. I’m hungry, super grateful for the opportunity and I can’t wait to put on amazing show! Thank you all for your love and support.
